That video of Gabriel winning the groms is mental. Seeing him string those manoeuvres together one after another multiple times on multiple waves for those 10's he scored was sick!! Very smooth.

I agree that the world title is a mind comp - when you a bunch of surfers who can all rip the only thing that makes a difference is what's between their ears

I saw Mick on those heats and I can tell you that he was far away from the others.
I knew he had many chances to win when I saw him surfing that morning. His willingness was much stronger than in others.
On the other hand I saw Kelly as not much more than a spectator although his surfing is probably one of the best.
